Houtz is an aged artisan cheese made from goat milk. Houtz is smooth and dense with a tangy, mildly sharp flavor. It is aged for four months. Houtz is named after John Houtz. In 1821, he erected a saw mill in Harrison Township, Logan County, Ohio, on the property where Blue Jacket cheese is produced.
